No Bird Flu (Avian Influenza) virus in Denmark
Latest test results on Bird Flu i Denmark - still negative response
On Thursday 23 February 2006 more test results were published by the Danish Veterinary and Food Research Institute from the ongoing testing of wild birds picked up in different areas in Denmark.
As part of the existing Danish surveillance programme against Bird Flu a single blood sample out of 45 indicating the presence of antibodies against Bird Flu was found in a flock of ducks at a farm in the north western part of Jutland on February 20, 2006. (Near the town called Skive.)
Tests from the Danish Institute for Food and Veterinary Research has now shown that there is no sign of outbreak of Bird Flu in the flock – neither in relation to the low pathogenic type nor to the high pathogenic H5N1 type of Avian Influenza.
