Chronology of Danish bluetongue outbreaks in 2008
  • 17 November 2008: The fifthteenth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of sheep in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 14 cattle and 20 sheep.
  • 29 October 2008: The fourteenth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of sheep in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 40 sheep.
  • 10 October 2008: The thirteenth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of diary cattle in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 120 cattle.
  • 6 October 2008: The twelfth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 29 cattle.
  • 3 October 2008: The eleventh outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of dairy cattle in the municipality Hedensted in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 100 cattle.
  • 2 October 2008: The tenth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of dairy cattle in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 66 cattle.
  • 2 October 2008: The ninth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of dairy cattle in the municipality Billund in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 120 cattle.
  • 30 September 2008: The eighth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 100 cattle.
  • 23 September 2008: The seventh outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Varde in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 25 cattle.
  • 17 September 2008: The sixth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Tønder in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 55 cattle.
  • 16 September 2008: The fifth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of dairy cattle in the municipality Billund in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 60 cattle.
  • 11 September 2008: The fourth outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of dairy cattle in the municipality Tønder in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 78 cattle.
  • 9 September 2008: The third outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Tønder in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of 10 cattle and the affected animal has not been vaccinated against bluetongue.
  • 8 September 2008: The second outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle in the municipality Ringkøbing-Skjern in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration North. The herd consists of 38 cattle. The herd is located in the surveillance zone of that time, and therfore was not vaccinated against bluetongue.
  • 27 August 2008: The first outbreak of bluetongue in 2008. The outbreak was confirmed in a herd of beef cattle near Bredebro in the municipality Tønder in the Regional Veterinary and Food Administration South. The herd consists of about 100 cattle and 13 sheep. The suspicion was raised 26 August when the herd was to be vaccinated against Bluetongue. Two cows showed clinical signs of bluetongue. Bluetongue was confirmed in one of the cows, based on positive antibody ELISA and PCR.
