Animal Welfare

According to the Danish Animal Welfare Act, animals should be treated carefully and properly and protected as well as possible from pain, suffering, fear, disablement and major inconvenience. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for animal welfare legislation in Denmark, including implementation of EU-legislation on animal welfare. The responsibility to carry out controls on certain animal welfare provisions has been delegated to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration.
