Identification labelling
The identification labelling must consist of an identification the establishment or factory vessel by its official approval number in conjunction with the country of origin.
Fish and fishery products that have been packed in third countries shall not be labelled with "EC", "EC approval number" etc. or with abbreviations of EU countries (such as "DK", "NL" etc.) in connection with the third country establishment's approval or registration number.
Regarding third countries covered by a specific EU Commission decision on the import of fish and fishery products, the country of origin should be indicated in full, as stated in the Commission decisions for those particular third countries.
Identification labelling of packaging material
The requirements for identification labelling apply to all kinds of packaging material, including inner packaging material, if sealed, and packaging for pre-packaged foodstuffs.
The shrink-wrap film applied around pallets of fish and fishery products should also have identification labelling.
Furthermore, big bags, etc. should be provided with identification labelling on every single big bag, small container, etc.
The labelling must be clearly legible and easily visible without having to open the packaging.
Consignments that arrive at border inspection posts in Denmark without identification labelling or with incomplete or incorrect identification labelling will be refused entry into the EU. No permission will be given for these consignments to be identification labelled in Denmark.
