Apart from the EU requirement for import of cats from third countries listed in Annex II, Part C to Regulation 998/2003/EEC the following additional requirements must be met:

• The animals have not been esident on holdings where during the past 60 days cases of Hendra disease have been confirmed.

Cats in transit are not required to meet the additional requirement provided they remain within the perimeter of an international airport.
